Art Basel Hong Kong: A Photo Recap

Art Basel Hong Kong wrapped last week. The 2015 showcase of the multi-location contemporary art fair (with outposts in Miami Beach and Basel) drew 233 galleries from some 37 countries, and scored big with visitors and buyers. Galleries enjoyed some healthy sales: David Zwirner Gallery reported the sale of Chris Ofili’s “Dead Monkey – Sex, Money and Drugs” (2000) for $2m, while Hauser and Wirth sold eight paintings by Zhang Enli each ranging from US$250,000-350,000 within the first hour of the fair opening.

Illustrator Kitty Wong was there, and captured the fair on camera. Here, she brings you a photographic recap of the event, replete with balloon horses and blue sheep. And while you’re at it, check out her beautiful art, which exquisitely mixes fashion illustration and portraiture.
