Dior Homme RTW SS16: Paris Fashion Week

At Dior Homme’s ready-to-wear runway presentation for Spring/Summer 2016 in Paris this week, Kris Van Assche served an orderly display of tuxedos, tailcoats and flannel suits. “In all disorder, a secret order,” is how Van Assche called this collection. An apt tagline for a collection that whispered nouveau bourgeoisie from almost every look. Camouflage prints accentuated the masculine disposition of the collection, but this was […]

Backstage at Dries Van Noten Men’s RTW SS16

Color and print were strongly featured at Dries van Noten’s Men SS16 show in Paris this week: garments embellished with prints of Marilyn Monroe in her heyday screamed for attention, but this was, otherwise, a clean and mature collection of loose silhouettes, liberally-fitting shirts, high-waist pants, mesh tank tops and suspenders. Barbara Bologna: Restricted Knitwear

Barbara Bologna’s eccentric Fall collection embodies a charismatic yet playful energy. Once a sculptress and performance artist, the Italian designer applies fashion as a way of questioning her own artistic thinking and practice which originates from deep inside her conscience. Best In Show At Art Basel 2015

Some examples? Agnes Martin‘s 1966 […]

A prolific artist, alongside films, Waters has been creating still photo-based work since the early 1990s. His latest show, a photographic exhibition called Beverly Hills John, has, after a successful […]

‘Hot Girls Wanted’: Stereotypes and Realities of Amateur Porn

This week, Netflix began airing Hot Girls Wanted, a Rashida Jones-produced porn doc that seeks to document a group of young amateur performers as they take their first steps in the porn industry. The five girls — all of them under 20 and new to the business — are recruited via Craiglist ads by Miami-based production company Hussie Models, and lured in with promises of fast, easy […]
