In their first show since September, Sleater-Kinney ushered in the new year by paying tribute to some artists we lost in 2016, and who had exherted profound influence on the band.
During a sold-out gig at San Francisco’s Masonic on New Year’s Eve, Janet Weiss, Corin Tucker and Carrie Brownstein were joined on stage by the Thermals’ Kathy Foster and Spoon’s Britt Daniels (also on DJ duty for the night) for awesome renditions of George Michael’s ‘Faith’ and David Bowie’s ‘Rebel Rebel.’
‘Rebel Rebel,’ which you can watch in the video below, also closed the night, which included a set of some of Sleater-Kinney’s most kick-ass songs.
