A few years ago, London-based photographer Annie Collinge set out to recreate a photographic interpretation of dolls she had found in junk stores. Inspired by Margaret Atwood’s “Five Poems for Dolls,” what emerged is a real-life whimsical, playful collection of images of various Londoners playing dress-up whilst emulating the dolls Collinge collected.
Now, Collinge is releasing a book of these portraits, titled Five Inches of Limbo and designed by Claire Huss. If you’re in London, the book launch is today at Ti Pi Tin Gallery in Dalston. For everyone else, here is a selection of images and a link to the publisher’s website.
