With 50 Shades of Grey<\/em>, everyone seems to suddenly have become a lover of erotic fiction. But away from the aseptic, poorly-written prose of most erotic novellas is a new series of books released by Badlands Unlimited, described by some as “Smutty Books for Smart People.” Badlands Unlimited, the publishing venture launched by artist Paul Chan, has published more than 30 titles since its inception in 2010. Now, Chan is delving into the erotic fiction genre by publishing a series of three books, New Lovers,<\/em>\u00a0about various aspects of (virginal) coital pleasures. <\/span><\/p>\n

The short erotic fiction works, titled We Love Lucy <\/em>(by Lilith Wes), How To Train Your Virgin<\/em>\u00a0(by Wednesday Black) and God, I Don’t Even Know Your Name<\/em> (by Andrea McGinty),\u00a0are\u00a0independent stories of about 12,000 \u2013 18,000 words in length each.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking to the New York Times, Chan explained, \u201cIdeas about what sex is, and what pleasure can be, are changing, as they ought to. We wanted to publish works that respond to this new spirit.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
