If you are in Austin and only have time for 5 movies, these are good bets:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[small_title title=&#8221;EX MACHINA&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2656\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/notofu.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/EXMACHINA.jpg?resize=680%2C478\" alt=\"EXMACHINA\" width=\"680\" height=\"478\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>Director:<\/b> Alex Garland<br \/>\n<b>Starring:<\/b> Domhnall Gleeson, Oscar Isaac, and Alicia Vikander<\/p>\n<p>Ava, a more advanced (and physically present) artificial intelligence system than last year&#8217;s Scarlett Johansson-voiced\u00a0<em>Her<\/em>, is at the center of this smart and accomplished sci-fi drama, directed by <em>28 Days Later<\/em> screenwriter Alex Garland.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[small_title title=&#8221;7 CHINESE BROTHERS&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2658\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/notofu.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/7-chinese-brothers.jpg?resize=620%2C400\" alt=\"7-chinese-brothers\" width=\"620\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>Director:\u00a0<\/b>Bob Byington<br \/>\n<b>Starring:<\/b>\u00a0Jason Schwartzman, Tunde Adebimpe, Eleanore Pienta, Stephen Root, and Olympia Dukakis<\/p>\n<p>The movie&#8217;s promotional material explicitly states the fact that Jason Schwartzman, who plays the movie&#8217;s main character Larry, is in every of the movie&#8217;s scenes. Which is not a bad thing, because\u00a0Schwartzman turns in\u00a0a thoughtful, pleasant performance as a\u00a0a down-on-his-luck quasi-alcoholic\u00a0attempting to finely balance his shaky life.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[small_title title=&#8221;HELLO, MY NAME IS DORIS&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2659\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/notofu.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/F54992-1024x683.jpg?resize=1024%2C683\" alt=\"F54992\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>Director:\u00a0<\/b>Michael Showalter<br \/>\n<b>Starring:<\/b>\u00a0Sally Field, Max Greenfield<\/p>\n<p>Sally Field&#8217;s character Doris\u00a0deals with retirement-age loneliness be embarking on a romantic relationship with her young coworker played by Max Greenfield in Michael Schowalter&#8217;s unusual, but compelling, comedy-drama.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[small_title title=&#8221;THE GRIEF OF OTHERS&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2661\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/notofu.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/the-grief-of-others-still_1720-1024x618.jpeg?resize=1024%2C618\" alt=\"the-grief-of-others---still_1720\" width=\"1024\" height=\"618\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>Director: <\/b>Patrick Wang<br \/>\n<b>Starring:<\/b>\u00a0Wendy Moniz,\u00a0Trevor St. John, Rachel Dratch<\/p>\n<p>Patrick Wang&#8217;s criminally underseen but exquisite debut <em>In The Family<\/em>\u00a0is one of the best independent films in\u00a0recent years. For his second feature-length movie, Wang once again tackles loss, as <em>The Grief of Others<\/em> deals with themes of a family grieving after the\u00a0death\u00a0of their son, just 57 hours after his birth.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[small_title title=&#8221;MANIA DAYS&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2662\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/notofu.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Luke-Kirby-Mania-Days-Films-NYC-Part-3-9OwWHV46Yjml.jpg?resize=594%2C388\" alt=\"Luke+Kirby+Mania+Days+Films+NYC+Part+3+9OwWHV46Yjml\" width=\"594\" height=\"388\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>Director: <\/b>Paul Dalio<br \/>\n<b>Starring:<\/b>\u00a0Katie Holmes, Luke Kirby<\/p>\n<p>Katie Holmes plays a bipolar poet named Carla, who falls for a man who shares her mental disorded\u00a0while getting treatment in a hospital.
